Simon Cowell has confirmed that a film version of American Idol is in the works, saying the movie will be “very, very realistic” like 1976 Oscar winner “Rocky.”

The film, called “Starstruck” will be cast by Cowell through open audtions held throughout the U.S.

He tells Extra “I’m going to cast the lead parts through an open audition process across America. So if you get through the auditions, and you get a part in this movie, it’s a huge, huge deal.”
