Britney’s Hairstylist Quits Before Her VMA Performance

Before Britney Spears went on for her VMA “show stealing performance”, Britney had a fight with celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves. People reports in their latest issue:

Weeks before the awards show, “Britney had requested his two female assistants [to do her extensions] since she prefers women around her,” and was disappointed when Paves himself arrived, says a Spears source. The stylist soon left, taking his hair with him.

“He bailed,” says the source. Says Paves’s rep: “Ken made the professional decision not to do her hair for the VMAs.”

That wasn’t Spears’s only problem – there was also a wardrobe flap. An MTV rep says costumers picked out a form-flattering corset for her to wear, but Spears chose a bikini instead.

  1. What a *wanker* to bail on her like that! He’s got the order of the universe all wrong. He is *not* the diva, or the star.

In light of how much was riding on her appearance at the VMA’s, this was not just wrong, it was damned unprofessional of him. What a narcissist. It was not about him – at all.

So much about Britney screams *sexual abuse*. When a woman ‘only wants women around her’ there is usually a deep reason, a wounding, violation, and loss of trust. She also shows a tremendous loss of confidence compared to earlier years.

He should have looked outside himself. I think he rides the coattails of starlets and then seeks to annex their fame and beauty to being ‘all about him’, which is not right. He did this with Jessica Simpson – to her detriment. Here with Britney he tried to ‘deny her beauty’ when it was his job to do a service.

I have no respect for him; and I can tell you, reading that, I wouldn’t want him or his people who would follow his examples touching my hair. Others might feel this way too. He thinks he won’t get professional repercussions from this?

He has a lousy attitude. He had no right to act out narcissistically and sabotage when he had a job to do.
