If You Have 4 Kids Adopt a Pit Bull
I am all for adopting animals from pet shelters, unless it’s a pit bull and you have 4 small children. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are said to have adopted a pit bull named Lennie. I am not sure if they don’t watch television but where I am from twice a month headlines read “Pit Bull attacks 7 year old child”. For the sake of the family I wish them the best with their new puppy Lennie.

uh, that’s not actually BECAUSE they’re pit bulls. i have three small children and two pit bulls, who are currently curled up sleeping on my bed all together. it’s not the DOGS, people, it’s the people who want tough-looking dogs and ABUSE them until they lash out.
duh.
Even though there are cases like this, or people with Rotweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, etc. These are still dogs who even if they don’t bite your children (which they could – and why risk?) they can and do bite other children who may be roughhousing with the kids.
This is incredibly dangerous. It’s just asking for trouble. There are lots of less dangerous dog breeds for kids to grow up with. Too many people, adults and children, not to mention other animals have been maimed or killed by pit bulls.
It is a kind of perverse egotism to want one in spite of all this. There is always the idea that ‘it won’t happen with me or my dog’. That’s what many people say until that pit bull snaps, and plenty do. One has to ask, ‘Would it be worth the physical and psychic pain to me and mine or someone else? Would it be worth the legal bills?’

Hoping the jolie-pitts have the staff to train the pup. ANY puppy can be dangerous and ANY breed dog a menace. I am sure they have it covered. At least I would hope so…
let me just say this to the person who said pit bulls attack a lot of people. pit bulls are VERY often MISTAKEN for the dog that attacked but in reality it was a DIFFERENT breed that was just said to be a pit bull. there are so many dogs that look like pit bulls that they get the blame. this is wrong on so many levels. pit bulls are one of the best breeds around. i personally have 3 and they are the best dogs ever. they get along w/ everyone especially my 1 1/2 year old nephew. please know the correct info before posting artogant comments. if you don’t know then keep your mouth shut.

People are so ignorant. Has the person making the accusations about pit bulls. They were called Nanny dogs because they would take care of children all the time. They have saved countless chilred and not only are they misrepresented in the media, usually dogs of any breed who attack people, especially pit bulls, are abused. When pit bull fighting first became illegal people didn’t know how to train the dogs to fight, they were so friendly! Especially towards humans. So they would get strangers off the street to randomly abuse the dogs so they would become more aggressive. This just goes to show how much the people affect the breed. Angry nasty PEOPLE should not make up a breed. This is a wonderful breed! affectionate and loving. So before you want to give your opinion, read the facts, and actually spend some time with the breed and I’m sure you will change you’re tune. To all the pit bull lovers: Thanks for giving the breed a better name!! A name it deserves!

I love my pit bulls they are the best dogs I have ever have. I have 2 pit bulls and 1 jack russel and 1 lab. the pit bulls are the best. The jack russel bites little kids and the lab does not get along with other dogs at all.
Anyone who tells themself that a pit bull could snap at any moment and it matters none bit how they are trained and raised, u r either ignorant or have never been around a “pit bull” before. First off a pit bull is not a breed of dog. It is a grouping of 3 different breeds that is used regularly in order to get more then one breed banned and to give the impression that there are certain types of breeds that are dangerous. When in realityl like i see others have commented it is most often another breed of dog that looks like a pit bull, but having the name pit bull not used for just one breed it is more affective to convince people that there is a different problem other than the owners. But there is no problem with these animals…there is problems with the people raising them…an issue obviouslly no one wants to deal with correctly. By telling yourself a pitbull will snap no matter what? no, that is completely incorrect. And if you feel this way then maybe you should check on some of the facts like the ATTS found at: http://www.atts.org/index.html/. And after this you still dont belive…then my only suggestion is to never own a dog period. Because any dog is as equally likely to lash out as any other breed. The only difference that is pit bull’ is what we read about in papers and throught ignorance, bias and prejudice. And if so why pit bull getting the bad rap? along with rottis, dobs, german shep. akitas others? because they look intimadating. period. and why pit bull the most out of all others? because any true good pit bull owner knows, u will never ever find another breed so willing to do exactley what you want…so willing to please, and so willing to forgive.
