Halle Berry’s Anti-Semitic Slip on Leno (Video)
Halle Berry is digging herself a great big ole hole after an unfortunate slip on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that has many calling the actress anti-Semitic.
Berry was on The Tonight Show to promote her new film “Things We Lost in the Fire,” and was showing photos of herself that she had distorted on the computer using Photobooth. She said she does this whenever she is feeling “down about the world” and it cracks her up.
The first photo Halle showed Jay and the audience was a picture of herself with a huge, distorted nose. “This one is like my Jewish cousin,” she said. According to sources, the audience fell silent. The comment was cut from the show that aired, and a laugh track was added. (See video below)
Berry said she didn’t mean to offend anyone and realized the comment could be seen as offensive, so she asked Leno to remove it, which he did.
Halle then goes on to make matters worse for herself by blaming her Jewish friends:
“What happened was I was backstage before the show and I have three girls who are Jewish who work for me. We were going through pictures to see which ones looked silly, and one of my Jewish friends said [of the big-nose picture], ‘That could be your Jewish cousin!’ And I guess it was fresh in my mind, and it just came out of my mouth. But I didn’t mean to offend anybody. I didn’t. I didn’t mean any harm.”
I am sure she didn’t mean to offend anyone, but that is beside the point. She should know better.

WTF? People are soo friggen ridiculous….isn’t everyone entitled to a faux pas?? I thought this was America?? Freedom of speech and all that….it wasn’t even a dirogatory remark..she was making a joke towards herself. People, you need to grow the hell up!!! I’m so sick of all this “prejudice” bullshit!

For instance, nobody is giving this Nobel Prize winning geneticist any breaks for his statement recently about IQ differences between Africans and Europeans, even though he apologized profusely.
He got fired, his speaking engagements have been canceled, he’s had grant money pulled from his research – damn near everything you can do but tar and feather the guy.
If anybody gets a break, then everyone should get a break.
I dare say if someone white said this on the Leno show, they would have left it in, not given them a courtesy edit.

If a white actor came on the show and said a pic of them looked like a nappy-headed Halle Berry, then all hell would break loose. Nappy is a stereotype of black people, just like big noses is that of Jews. Now u see why she cannot get distribution for her latest film. Jewish men are chairman of about 8 of 10 studios in this country. She may be relegated to Lionsgate who finance & distribute primarily urban flix that Berry has avoided for over a decade.
