Lance Armstrong took to the streets this morning to compete in the 38th Annual New York City Marathon. The seven time “Tour de France” champ declared the 26.2 mile event to be challenging.

Armstrong, 36, admits that last year he didn’t know what he was doing and finished the race in just under three hours. This year he got serious, trained harder and set his goal at finishing in under 2:50:00 – mission accomplished.

Dressed in a bright yellow shirt and sporting dark glasses, he crossed the finish line to cheering crowds as his image was broadcast on a large overhead monitor.
