Considering that she was dealing with the week-old death of a family member, his behavior was not only cruel, it was craven. For him to pull up 'statistics' was an ill-advised attempt to cover up the ugliness of what he did to her. He has no dignity, and he certainly did not spare hers or the dignity of her child.
