Willie Nelson Helps Legislature Pass Law Against Dogfighting
Country music star Willie Nelson is lending his voice to the Georgia Legislature. While doing a public message, Ray Charles one-time hit song Georgia on My Mind played in the background as Willie spoke his mind.
The cause is anti-dogfighting bill. While it is currently illegal to dogfight in Georgia, if you do get caught they essentially would give you a slap on the hand. The southern state has become a haven for dogfighters from around the country.
If the bill passes, it would now be a felony if you were to get caught. The bill is set to go in front of the House committee in January. Bravo for superstars like Willie Nelson who step up to the plate and help to try and make a difference.
