All good things must come to an end, and according to Alec Baldwin, that will be in 2012 for NBC’s 30 Rock.

“I will tell you one thing,” said Baldwin. “And that is our show next year is our last year of the show.”

“Our contracts are expired is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great,” Baldwin told NY Mag’s Vulture Tuesday night at the National Dance Institute’s annual fund-raising gala, where he was bing honored for his commitment to the art and culture of New York City.

Baldwin has been vocal about his plans to leave 30 Rock in 2012, and has talked openly about running for political office. “The Republicans have to get serious, and that’s not a serious choice,” the actor said of Donald Trump’s potential presidential bid.
