The View’s Sherri Shepherd Not Familiar With That Whole BC Thing (Video)
“The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd, who said earlier this year that she is not sure if the earth is round or flat, has once again shown her ignorance by insisting Christianity predated ancient Greece and Judaism.
The conversation began when Joy Behar mentioned watching a show on the History Channel about Greek philosopher Epicurus and his definition of happiness.
“Keep in mind that probably when [Epicurus] was around, there was no Jesus Christ stuff going on,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.
“They still had Christians back then,” Shepherd interrupted.
“They had gods,” Goldberg said.
“They had Christians,” Shepherd insisted. “And they threw ‘em to the lions.”
“I think this might predate that,” Goldberg said.
“I don’t think anything predated Christians,” Shepherd shot back.
Behar then piped in.
“The Greeks came first, then the Romans, then the Christians,” she said.
“Jesus came first, before then,” Shepherd said.
Seriously? Ummm, and that whole BC thing is…what is that again? Oh yeah! BEFORE Christ.
I am just astounded sometimes by the lack of education in this country. I mean come on, that is basic world history!
I thought Kellie Pickler took the cake in the ignorance category after her appearance on “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” (she’s not), but Sherri Shepherd is giving her a run for her money.
