This was an unfortunate accident. Yes Hulk is trying to protect his son. Nick was driving fast and it resulted in this horrible ACCIDENT. This is not uncommon among teenagers. The number of teens who are killed in accidents every year is in the thousands. As parents we try to give our children the best guidance possible, they don't always listen. Nick had a lot of training driver fast cars, his parents thought he could handle them, he couldn't. They learned this the hard way - a good friend is injured for life. I do understand the Hogans statements that John is 23 years old and he made the decision not to wear his seat belt. Nick is 17. I feel sorry for both Nick and John and their families. But this was a tragic accident - not deliberate stop treating Nick like he somehow did this on purpose and pray for John's recovery and both families.

First of all I grew up idolizing Hulk Hogan, i even watched his Hogan's Knows Best program, and until this day i saw what a great father he is and how protective of his kids he was, but he crossed the line defending his son instead of making his son take full responsibility for his actions. Even if the passenger wasn't making use of the seatbelt, he was still driving over the speed limit, and even a blind person could have seen that. Wake up and smell the reality, Nick will enjoy his life very normal but what can we say about his ( Best Friend ). And another thing a rsponsible person would of not let his son or daughter drive or even own a car like the one Nick owned, those cars even when they aren't hooked up for racing they are really fast cars, I know this because I own one , and my daughter is 17 years old and she is not allowed to drive it unless I'm with her in the passengers seat . So let this be a lesson to many people around the world, teach your kids to be responsible, teach them to face reality when something has gone wrong, teach them that when your racing over the speed limit and something occurs and everybody gets hurt except you , that even if they weren't making use of the seatbelt you are the one responsible for whatever happens to them, teach them that MOM and DAD will always be there for them , but teach them when something goes wrong they have to deal with the situation.

I have watched wrestling a great portion of my life. When I had my son he became a wrestling fan as well and Hulk Hogan was his hero. How depressing that his hero dropped to a zero. My son even tells me that you are wrong Terry! You are a role model to thousands if not millions of children and the lesson you teach them is to never take responsiblity for what they do always blame someone else? If John was wearing a seat belt or not is not the issue here had your son been acting like an adult (which by the way if he didnt know how to not only is that YOUR fault but he had no right to be driving a car like that or to be driving period) but if he had been acting like he SHOULD have none of this would have happened so it is time that you become a GOOD father instead of whatever you are now and teach Nick that what he did was wrong and if there is any hope at all that he will learn anything from this it has to come from you, not the media and not your fans. When I listened to the talk you and Nick had and how both of you were blaming John for what happened to him it almost made me sick to my stomache, I couldnt believe you were saying what you were saying. I guess I never expected you to be so self centered and for you to teach that to your children. What you should have said is “No Nick this is your fault and you have to deal with what is coming from it, I can not and will not shelter you from this.” How is he to ever learn to live and take care of his self if Daddy is always doing it and making excuses for him when he cant? The only thing I guess we can all be thankful for is that you are retired and not telling lies and misleading the new generation of wrestling fans these children deserve an honest role model one that is worthy of that title… I hope someday your son grows up and takes responsibility for his own life and actions and you grow up enough to let him. You BOTH have alot to learn from this Terry not just Nick. Good luck in life.
