Mary Bono, U.S. Representative-CA and widow of singer turned politician Sonny Bono, has wed U.S. Representative-FL Connie Mack. Both are Republicans. The couple were married in a private ceremony attended by 35 guests.

Bono replaced her husband in congress after his death in a skiing accident. Sonny left a successful singing career and went into politics after the breakup of his marriage to his long time partner Cher.

The 45 year old Bono replaced her late husband, Sonny Bono in Congress after a special election was called in 1998.
