Nicole Kidman’s Bizarre Red Carpet Ensemble

Nicole Kidman strode the red carpet recently at the Australian premiere of her latest release The Golden Compass. She wore an ensemble that may leave some staring with mouth agape. She could pass for an award statue.

The stainless steel look may be all the rage as celebrity wear in Australia, but looked vaguely reminiscent of the costume worn by the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. Put a metal funnel on her head and the outfit would be complete.

The 40 year old actress was a clear standout in her shiny satin skinny leg pants, cummerbund, jacket and black two inch stilettos. Daily Mail thought she looked like a six foot roll of tin foil. We tend to agree with that assessment – except that she looks much taller than six foot in the ensemble.

Kidman was patient with her fans and took time to sign autographs in the rain. Obviously the pantsuit was waterproof and one can only hope that it is rustproof as well.
