“The Mummy” star Brendan Fraser and his wife, Afton Smith are calling it quits after 9 years of marriage.

Fraser’s publicist, Ina Treciokas, issued a statment saying “They continue to maintain a close and caring friendship.”

Fraser and Smith met at Winona Ryder‘s barbeque in 1993 and married in September 1998.

Afton Smith wrote a book called “Hollywood Picks the Classics: A Guide for the Beginner and the Aficionado,’ a guide to classic movies.

The couple have three children – Griffin Arthur, Holden Fletcher and Leland Francis.
