Dr. Phil Cancels Plan to Exploit Britney Spears On His Show
Dr. Phil McGraw has apparently caved to a fire storm of pressure and has decided not to exploit Britney Spears and her family by taping a special that would have been aired later this week on his daytime talk show Dr. Phil Now.
The plan had been to tape the show on Tuesday for airing the following day. Early hype had claimed it was an exclusive report on Britney Spears. Then it was massaged and suddenly became about Spears parents and their struggle. Now it has been deemed inappropriate – and rightly so.
The media has been buzzing about the Dr. Phil ambush since he charged into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, hell bent to save Britney from herself. He claims to have been sent by her parents. She, in a moment of clarity, took one look at him and bolted. Who can blame her. He proceeded to follow her through an underground tunnel to a waiting car.
Dr. Phil then had the nerve to tell the world that he had met with Spears for an hour and added enough fluff to make it seem like he was on insider when in fact, he was an unwelcome intruder.
The jig is up for the pompous Dr. Phil. Inappropriate indeed.

This man should be arrested or sued. Certainly he should be investigated by any medical board that cares to represent him. (Cracker Jack?) He is a malignant narcissist. He was rushing in FOR HIMSELF because he could SEE HIMSELF as an important part of this ’story’ and what this could do FOR HIM.
As in the movie ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ one must beware of sociopaths who barge in pushing people out of their way saying imperiously, “Trust me, I’m a doctor” or ‘I’m a priest, minister, whathave you.
Dr. Phil is a television performer, a circus performer, and he was prepared to exploit this woman and turn her traumatic medical incarceration into a side show freak show – and then he has the nerve to paint himself as a saint, a hero, and his actions as an enlightened intervention and dramatic action of self-sacrifice. It’s obscene. And unfortunately, just as blood draws vampires, medical dramas can draw psychopaths. He is a pathological personality.
Dr. Phil was certainly NOT her attending physician. He had no medical relationship with her at all. Informed consent anyone? HEPA patient privacy laws anyone? If he wants to drag in her parents as a cheap excuse, they should be charged as well. Britney Spears is an adult not a child, and I can see very well why she would want space from parents like hers who continue to abuse and exploit her like she isn’t worth anything.
And to top all this, he was going to put this on TV? On HIS television show?
Dr. Phil should be smacked with disciplinary action from whatever major cereal company issued his doctor’s license and Cedar Sinai should make sure their patients are better protected from sociopathic predators pretending to be saints.
You people are very rude… Phil McGraw is a good guy and Brittany Spears is the freak. If you think that Dr. Phil is not a real doctoer, then look at his history. He has a GREAT background! This story is so one sided that the people who read this are not properly informed. Brittany needs help! whocares how someone gives it to her, just as long as it works.
