What we were hoping were just vicious rumors may, in fact, be true. Paula Abdul is said to be one of the opening acts for the Super Bowl pre-game show, which will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. This has shades of Britney Spears VMA performance written all over it.

I am trying to figure out what the promoters of the Super Bowl are thinking that they will get out of this. Then it came to me. Who wouldn’t want to tune in to see the blabbering fool make an ass out of herself?

Paula and Ryan are not the only American Idol stars to perform. Randy Jackson will be singing with Paula. That leaves Simon as odd man out and my guess is that he will be in some remote tropical destination laughing his butt off.
