Oregon native Kristy Lee Cook has established herself as an American Idol front runner on night one of American Idol Season 7.
Cook, a 23-year-old who loves horses, camping, fishing, kick boxing and cage fighting (yes, cage fighting), moved to Texas a few years ago to pursue a music career.
Kristy had to sell one of her horses to pay her way to Philadelphia for the auditions. After hearing her rendition of “Amazing Grace,” I think it was the best investment she could have made in her future.
