It is a mind trying to adapt and survive to save the body in extreme circumstance. This is very common with victims of violence, torture, both mental and physical, and sexual abuse. It is actually the sign of a psychic immune system. The splitting keeps the mind from completely shattering, taking down the body. Mind and body are connected.

It seems to me that this ‘British girl’ is a little stronger and feistier than the all- accommodating, submissive, people pleasing, controlled and controllable ‘Britney’ that had been molded by parents and handlers.

I can totally understand this. It is the mind’s solution to escape and take a time out, to be safe, to bring out stronger more protective savvy sides to deal with the problems the overly controlled frightened and defeated parts can no longer deal with. It gives a chance for rebirth from the shackles of the old persona.
