Patrick Swayze Has Pancreatic Cancer
UPDATE: Patrick Swayze died on September 14, 2009
55-year-old actor Patrick Swayze, who danced his way into our hearts in “Dirty Dancing,” has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs and has been given five weeks to live.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University’s prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
According to the National Enquirer, Swayze has undergone three doses of chemotherapy, but his cancer is not responding and he was told he should “prepare for the end.”
This is devastating news. I hope the Enquirer got it wrong this time. If the rumors are true, our thoughts and prayers go out to Patrick and his family.
Check out his sit down interview with Barbara Walters.

Patrick you have inspired so many aspiring actors, its a shame that this has happened to you of all people, you will not be forgotten, you will live on in your movies and the hearts of your fans, i for one will tell my children of you, one of the greatest actors ever born.
Well, it’s now September – 6 months later – and he’s still alive. Always good to have accurate and balanced news. Just goes to show how stupid and uninformed the news outlets really are. I do hope he beats this thing, for his sake and to make raging fools out of reports like this that say he has 5 weeks to live.
In spite of the grim news of only having 5 weeks left to live….. the truth is the treatments are working and he is enjoying his life to the fullest. Patrick is a fighter with a zest for Life. A fine example of hope to all who are suffering from this horrific disease called Cancer.
May you continue to be well and may God bless you.
patrick, im sorry to here the bad news about you. i hope you get the cure you need. my heart goes out to you and your family. I love all your movies, and im glad your still with us and i hope you stay with us for a very long time.and may god be with you.
God will be with you Pat. I know you can make it through. Don’t give up Pat! you can do it….I know you can do it!
May GOD Bless you & every member in your family….’Do not merely listen to the word, & so deceive yourselves. Do what it says’ James 1:22.
‘pray for one another, that you may be heal. The effective, fervert prayer of a righteous man awaits much.’ James 5:16
Your name will be given to our pray chain, may each fiber of your being be blessed over & anointing be upon you while you & your family get you through this terrible disease.
Praise GOD for HE will be with you in every step you make.
May GOD Bless
Debbi (a.k.a. Lady Taz)
Patrick, we love you, and love never dies! Lisa, what a strong woman you are, we love you Lisa, and how you’ve stood together the test of time, you and Patrick, like he said are soulmates, and the soul never dies–this energy cannot die–love never dies.
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus, will God bring with him. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
I Thess. 4:13,14 . . .
Oh Patrick, you wrote “She’s Like the Wind” and what a beautiful song, reminds us what the Bible says about the wind, and how you will be with the Dad you loved so much, so soon!
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3:8
He’s like the wind . . . and his spirit and soul will never die. That’s a fact! (God said it, I believe it, that settles it)
We love you Patrick!
How sad and how proud at the same time that he is still fighting…today we hear he is stopping the treatments…You are an awesome individual Patrick and you give strength to so many….God bless you and your family….

~with love~

Thank you Lisa for sharing your beloved Patrick with the rest of us. I just wanted to say that first and foremost The wife is most always forgotten that she was a huge strength behind the man when LOVE was the KEY INGREDIENTS. It was so apparent that you two were so in love and love and laughter are most assuredly the best medicine… just ask any doctor.
I know that the soul mate communion that the two of you shared that is the same that I share with my husband. I could see that when I saw the Barbara Walters interview. That comes ONCE in a life time I convinced of that regardless of what anyone tells me.
I send this as my husband expects to go before me and most people today just don’t get it that there just isn’t anyone else for you. So I hope you will save my email so that one day I can ask you some questions when I need to because I already form them in my mind. I tonight I cry for you for those things that the fans aren’t thinking about but what a soul mate would
Patrick…
What a legend! The best in every way. You and you wife set a perfect example to the rest of the world. A pitty though that you don’t have any kids. My thoughts and prayers goes out to your wife Lisa and the family. May your soul rest in peace.
