Thomas Beatie First Pregnant Man (Photo)
Thomas Beatie is not your typical male. In fact he used to be a she. He has undergone chest reconstruction to eliminate his female breasts. He has also taken testosterone to deepen his voice and encourage the growth of body hair. For reasons only he can explain, he left his female reproductive organs intact and is now pregnant. He admits he had to quit taking testosterone in order to get pregnant.
Beatie is married to a woman named Nancy. No word on whether she was previously male and/or if artificial insemination was necessary. He reportedly suffered one ectopic pregnancy previously and had to have one ovary removed. This pregnancy is reportedly a healthy and uneventful experience and he couldn’t be happier. No word on why he opted to have the baby instead of his wife.
The photos are startling to say the least. The blessed event should occur around July 3, 2008. Check out the photo after the jump.

Too bad they didn’t consider the effects this will have on that poor child.
And a little misleading…taking testosterone and have a breast reduction does not make you a man. If you have a utuerus and a vagina (as this “person” does) it is a woman.
I just feel for that poor little child that will have to grow up with these people. Very sad indeed.
This can not be the worlds first pregnat man if he use to be a she now can it….the first pregnat man would not have been born female and then turned to a male.
I think if this is all possible, that the man should squeeze the baby through his new vagina-penis.
Any word on whether they might try to get the Walt Disney money left to the first pregnant man?
Either way that might be a huge legal case..and the impact on the LGBT community would be huge..

Congrats to the new family on a healthy baby girl. Just wanted to say how great it was to hear that Nancy is nursing, the perfect way to give that baby the best start in life. That baby just needs love & direction to be happy, who cares what her parents look like.
