Although Kristy Lee Cook got the boot on American Idol this week, she still has reason to celebrate. The 24-year-old recently got engaged to boyfriend Andy Dobner.

Dobner proposed to Cook on March 15, but she chose to keep it quiet so she could focus on Idol. He then surprised her by getting down on one knee and proposing publicly on American Idol Extra.

“He reenacted the proposal and actually got down on his knees this time,” Cook said. “The first time he didn’t so he owed it to me.”

The two met while Kristy Lee was waiting tables at an Italian restaurant in Oregon.

Now if she can only get that horse back.
