John Mayer attended the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala last night and ET got a ‘say what’ quote from the singer. Mayer and Jennifer Aniston have been photographed poolside in Miami on a number of occasions in recent weeks. The actress has been filming Marley & Me with Owen Wilson for the past several months in the Sunshine State.

Mayer and Aniston reportedly had a private 90 minute luncheon in Miami at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink and there have been reports of flower deliveries to Aniston at the hotel where she has been camped out while on location.

When asked to comment about the relationship, Mayer had this to say:

Listen, this is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control. This is me living my life and a guy with a really powerful lens and I don’t fault him, I don’t fault anybody, I don’t fault you, I don’t fault this or that. There are much worse problems in the world. Everything’s cool!”
