Khandi Alexander Quits CSI: Miami
Khandi Alexander, who plays Dr. Alexx Woods is reportedly leaving CSI: Miami at the end of her contract. Show executives are reportedly scouting a male replacement for the role of medical examiner for Miami-Dade. It should be interesting to see how they write her out of the story line.
The 50 year old actress reportedly had issues that have caused her to throw in the towel and leave CSI. No word on whether the issues were personal or creative in nature or whether her departure decision was one sided or forced. Prior to CSI: Miami, Alexander appeared on NewsRadio and ER.
Khandi Alexander was born on September 4, 1957 in New York. Aside from being an actress, she is also a dancer and choreographer. In fact, she has appeared on Broadway and has even choreographed Whitney Houston’s international tours.

CSI Miami will not be the same without Khandi Alexander and the role she played as Alexx Woods. She was a major player. Every time someone in a role, like she had, leaves, the culture - the makeup of the show is altered and not often in a positive way.
I will miss Khandi Alexander; it was because of her I started watching CSI Miami in the first place. She not only plays a part, she (like the old time actors) becomes the part. As if it was developed especially with her in mind. She blew me a way in the role she played as an addict in the Corner. Sorry things could not be worked out between her and the powers-that-be!
I LUV Khandi Alexander!!! CSI:MIAMI will NEVER be the same without her. Her character (Alexx Woods) is a very good person. If someone else played her i would probably not even watch CSI:MIAMI.

I connot believe Alex is gone. She must come back. She was the most interesting person on the show. CBS bring her back!! It has not been the same without her. Give her what she wants, more money or more air time. She has got to come back. there will not be any male ME that will be as good as her. and the door was left open for her return. Please CBS surprise us with Alex’s return.
The part Ms. Alexander played as Alexx Woods is my favorite. She brought life to the character and personified MEs as caring. I liked the way she talked tot he victims once they were on her table and how she treated them with respect. While a male ME may possibly be the replacement, I think they would be better off having another female ME. Afterall you have the male ME on CSI and CSI New York and I am getting a little worn from watching them. I nominate Jennifer Hudson or Tamala Jones.
Bring Alexx back!!! Without her, CSI Miami’s balance will go off. Her character is so caring and it won’t be the same without her. Even if it was just a role, it made me cry during her last episode. Bring her back!!!!
