Teacher Marie Jarry Fired for Howard Stern Bikini Appearance (Photo and Video)
Marie Jarry, a second grade teacher at Thalberg Elementary School in Southington, Connecticut, has lost her job after a photo of her in a bikini showed up on HowardStern.com.
The picture was sent in by Jarry’s husband, Aaron, as part of a contest Stern ran on his radio show for the “Ugliest Guy, Hottest Wife.” The couple won the contest, earning them $5000, an appearance on Stern’s show, and a monthly unemployment check.
According to Aaron Jarry his wife had no choice but to resign. “We were ok…but then the local news media got a hold of it…there was a good amount of pressure.”
Stern said he was sorry that the school board didn’t have any decency because, not only did Aaron’s wife keep all of her clothes on when she was on the show, but she didn’t even say anything remotely controversial.
However, parents at the school had a different view. “I can’t believe she would go on TV and do that when she is a second-grade teacher,” said parent Dean LaPoint. “It just doesn’t make sense.”

So I guess during the summer when everyone goes to the local pools all FEMALE teachers are required to wear a 1920’s bathing suit? Get real here people! It’s a bathing suit. How many girls & woman do our children see dressed this way on T.V. (OH NO!!) and in public. Yes she went on T.V. Have we forgot Baywatch? Wasn’t it nicknamed BABEWATCH? Get a lawyer girl! And move to St Louis, I would love to a young energetic teacher like you in my sons school.
We pay teachers nothing and demand that they have no life outside work. It’s a wonder more talented young people don’t go into teaching.
How many 2nd graders watch Howard Stern? Their parents should be fired.
I hope this teacher sues the school district! I got written up at my school where I teach art because a student drew filthy pictures after seeing a famous painting by Suerat called “The Bathers”. The images was postage stamp sized and features a woman topless standing between 2 ladies covered with towels. The woman in the middle shows only dots on her chest as any hint to her being female. The student saw it while in my room and drew a man playing with himself. He was known to be a difficult child and even after my getting in trouble, went on to do more nasty stuff at school. BUT I was ordered into the office, written up for giving “pornography” to the kids. There are similar images in the art books in the school library that show more nudity and art books with nudity are often sold at our yearly book fairs, but I would be fired if I bought one for use in my room! The librarian offered to give me older art books that are now in the school library for my class but I will not touch them. Another teacher in Dallas was fired because she took her kids to an art museum and in the distance some of them saw a nude statue. It is so unfair that kids are seeing what they see on TV shows and computer games that show so much worse BUT teachers get disciplined/fired for society’s sins!
Schools nowadays are going backwards. Teachers can’t mention God but teach immorality is ok (sex outside of marriage for one) and then punish teachers when they do not live up to strict 1890’s morals and standards?!?!?!
What if this teacher had been lesbian and her lover sent in the photo? Would the school have even dared made an issue of it for fear of being accused of showing intolerance and hate?
