The top 10 American Idol contestants from season seven will set our on a U.S. singing tour this summer. In case you’ve forgotten just who will be involved, we’ve posted the official poster with the most gifted of the 2008 talent pool in their best group glamour pose.

Hitting the road for the 11 week concert series will be David Archuleta, David Cook, Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikezie Eze, Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns and Ramiele Malubay. The tour kicks off July 1 and runs through September 13, 2008. Click HERE for venues & dates.

The final showdown will occur this week for 17 year old teen David Archuleta and 25 year old David Cook in a head to head competition. Will it come down to song choice or have the fans already made their choice? It should be interesting.

We don’t want to jinx it for either contestant but the two previous male winners failed to live up to their potential. Ruben Studdard won season two and Taylor Hicks won season five and both have been dumped by their record labels. Season five runner up Katharine McPhee also got dropped by her record label but is attempting an acting career.

Successful Idol alumni include season four winner Carrie Underwood, season one winner Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken and Fantasia.

The verdict is still out on season six winner Jordin Sparks and runner up Blake Lewis.
