Josh Groban Admits Smoking Pot
In a recent interview, 27-year-old Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Josh Groban opens up about smoking pot and hanging out with Kid Rock.
On marijuana:
“Hey, do you remember, in Amsterdam, like, how funny bowling got all of a sudden?” Groban asks. “I don’t even remember Amsterdam,” says drummer Craig MacIntyre. “Never mind,” Groban says abruptly, prompting gales of laughter. But he continues the story anyway: “We were in that café”—he pauses meaningfully—“uh, for coffee. And, um, it was on TV and we’re like, ‘Oh, bowling’s on!’ And then, like, an hour later we were like”—he affects a stoner voice straight out of a Harold & Kumar movie—“‘Look at the way they’re squatting!’”
On hanging out with Kid Rock:
The paparazzi, he says, don’t stake him out. The exception: “If I have famous friends over. I had Kid Rock over after the Emmys. It’s like three in the morning and I’m like, ‘Come on down to my place!’” Wait, Kid Rock chilling at Josh Groban’s crib? “Yeah. I told him, ‘You’re totally ruining your image—you gotta get out of here!’”

The way you are portraying Josh Groban right now is not right. He never admitted to smoking pot; that was intended as a JOKE. He has a very dry sense of humor, and unless you’ve read other interviews he has done, or watched an interview, you wouldn’t understand his humor. Which, obviously, the person who did this story didn’t understand. I don’t see how you get pot out of the first quote from the article. It doesn’t make sense to me. I’d like someone to explain this connection.
I am a huge fan of Josh’s, and I don’t want to make him out to be a saint like some seem bent on doing. I love his irreverent sense of humor … and reading this article, if you bother to read the whole thing, you have to keep in mind that sense of humor and not take everything you read to the extreme. Nowhere in this article was the word “marijuana” mentioned. Josh is by no means admitting to smoking pot, and unless you have hard proof you can’t say he is. Josh has said, himself, that he will not do drugs because it would hurt his voice and that he’s not going to do something stupid because he knows he’s being watched all the time. This article, that quote in particular, was a JOKE.
It’s ridiculous how you are talking about him. He does have a dry sense of humor, and he didn’t mean like oh I used to smoke pot. Even if he did people shouldn’t judge him because of that. Anyways i don’t think he has. People just like starting rumors because they have no life!
