I am a proud nerd who grew up riding a bicycle instead of relating with fellow students at school. I wore ugly glasses, loved to read from the age of five, and was a foster child from the age of two and a half. so I was rejected by my class mates. Just as Barack Obama was left out of the social circle because he was half white and half black so were others only because they were different.
My brother and I lived with our foster parents in a small town in the northeast where no one of color, not black, not brown, or yellow could rent or own a house. Our school had no students of color. However, prejudice did exist. It was against the poor, the child of a single parent, and the not so attractive child.
I feel sorry for those of you who have no empathy for those who appear different. One more thing. If you want to know what is wrong with America, ask a nerd. You might learn something.

Ah, yes. Let the "debates" about bullshit continue. I guess because Obama has the audacity to wear a sensible bicycle helmet, that means he's out of touch with normal Americans. Bitten and Bound even invoke the dread electoral specter of Michael Dukakis.

First of all, Obama looks AWESOME in this pic, because he's more or less incapable of doing non-awesome things.

Second, off the top of my head, Obama's ideas for energy, the economy and technology are way ahead of the GOP's -- to say nothing of his tireless opposition to the Iraq war and support for net neutrality.

So, hey there, Bitten and Bound -- get your head out of your ass!

umm.. wow. the author's ignorance just forces itself out of the page in this article where she is apparently saying that obama is "out of practice" for riding a bicycle in an urban environment. i'm not too sure if the author has ever left her shack in the middle of the country to visit an actual large urban US city... but i'm sure if she did, she would realize that if you're under the age of 30 nowadays in an urban environment, it's socially acceptable and even considered "hip" to ride a bike. oh, and "ill-fitting" jeans are actually tight jeans which are fashionable in most modern cities. were you expecting him to wear baggy jeans and a sports jersey? lulz.
