Amy Winehouse Hospitalized After Fainting

These photos were taken just before Amy Winehouse fainted in her London home and was hospitalized on Monday after greeting fans who had traveled from Canada to see her. One young girl, who had waited outside the singer’s home all day, broke down in tears when Amy emerged to sign autographs.

After going back inside, the 24-year-old passed out. Fortunately, her manager’s assistant was able to catch her as she was falling. Amy’s father, Mitch, accompanied her to the hospital “as a precaution.”

The Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests. It is expected that she will remain in the hospital overnight for observation.

According to Amy’s rep:

“She’s fine. It was a brief thing and they took her in as a precaution. Her Dad drove her to a private hospital, but they’re unsure what caused it so aren’t taking any chances.”

Amy’s health has been in question for a while now. Last year she was hospitalized for “severe exhaustion,” although sources claim it was a drug overdose.
