As the originator of Obama for President watches, I wanted to make a few comments. While Obama watches are definitely a profit making business, part of our intent was to launch a viral campaign to support Senator Obama.

That is why we say on our Web site that you don't have to buy a watch to spread a viral message that Barack Obama is the candidate of change who represents a turn away from the last 8 disasterous years under George Bush.

The way to spread the viral mesage about Obama is, if someone asks you what time it is say, "It's time for a change."

To keep up with the humorous and sometimes, not so humorous threads posted here, I would like to let Fark readers know that Obama for President watches are "Guaranted to be more accurate the George Bush, more trustworthy than Dick Cheney, younger than John McCain and three trillion dollars cheaper than the Iraqi War."

Lest anyone thining we're trivializing the brave soldiers who are risking their lives in the Iraqi War, we have agreed to give 10% of our profits fron the sale of our "Love Your Mama. Vote for Obama." watch to a group called Hire Heroes USA (http://www.hireheroesusa.org/)that helps returning soldiers find a job or new career.

Two more things which we think are pretty cool. Three Obama for President watches have been accepted into the collection of the Smithsonian Institution. Also, I can't swear he ever received them, but Friday night in Philadelphia, we gave a set of wathces to the Secret Service. They inspected the watches and gave them back to an aide who said he would see that the Senator received them.

Time will tell.
