Will Brock Lesnar Turn the UFC Into a Circus?
Paul Heyman is standing behind Brock Lesnar as he takes on the UFC full force. Paul was one of the people that got Brock into the WWE in the beginning of his career. Now he’s going from acting out fights to the real deal.
The Sun sat down with their own SunSport columnist Paul Heyman and talked about the 31 year old heavyweight fighter, who already seems to be causing quite the uproar. Last Saturday Brock took his first fight against the Texas Crazy Horse at the Minneapolis Target Center and showed that he may still have some of his WWE ways about him.
Clearly trying to get to his opponent and his team, Lesnar mocked them when they were in their corner by pretending to have a lasso and yelled “I fell off the horse against Frank Mir, and I got back on the stallion tonight and rode off on it.”
Lesnar made some lame excuse for his smack talk by saying “That’s just me, I was excited. That was for Heath’s camp because on the way out to the Octagon there were some things said before the fight. But I had the last laugh and the last thing to say – and that is all that matters to me.”
We’re not sure this ring is the right ring for Brock. Here’s what Heyman had to say:
“That’s the real Brock Lesnar coming out. That’s Lesnar through and through. He thrives in an environment of trash talking, in your face competition. He wants you to know that he’s better than you – and by the way, ‘you suck’!”
Check out The Sun for the rest of the interview. Do you think Lesnar will last in the Ultimate Fight Champion or is he trying to make it a circus?
I have watched both of Lesnar’s fights and the first one I couldn’t wait to see. Here’s this bigger than life guy who you think is going to destroy his opponent so I made a little wager on the fight against Frank Mir and lost because the big ass tapped out.
So last week when Lesnar took the ring again I made another sucker bet on him thinking there is no way a man with no neck is going to tap out two times in a row. Lucky for me he pounced the Texas Crazy Horse right from the start and never let up or for that matter got off of him. Let’s face it– the ‘Horse’ had to know that if Lesnar laid on him there was no getting up.

if you honestly bet on Brock Lesnar beating Frank Mir in his first fight you seriously should never gamble on any MMA match again. Frank Mir is a former cha, pion, it doesnt matter how his career was goin at thew time the fact that he has been around as long as he has in the MMA world gave him a HUGE advantage over someone as new to the sport as lesnar no matter the athletic ability of Brock.
Brock has shown that he is taking his training seriously and wants to become a legit MMA fighter. Who cares if he has an attitude. Have you ever heard of Tito Ortiz?? His talent and his attitude more than anything made him an icon in the UFC. Before you write about whether or not Brock Lesnar will make a mockery of the sport do some homework instead of writing something like this that obviously shows your lack of knowledge pertaining to mixed martial arts.
He won’t last.UFC is just not gay enough for a rassler.
You don’t think ‘rasslers’ can make it in the UFC? Ever heard of Dan Henderson, Matt Lndland, or Mark coleman? All very successful MMA fighters that had a base or start in wrestling prior to goin into UFC.
If ya havent heard of them maybe you’ve at least heard of this dude named Randy Couture??? You know he’s supposed to be one of the most decorated and highly regarded fighters in UFC history… Ever guess at what his main background is fighting came from? This crazy concept called greco-roman wrestling.
Maybe youre knew to the world of MMA, if so thats no big deal ya didnt know. But many of the best fighters of all time have a very strong wrestling background. I know, I’ve been involved in MMA for the 10 years.
I don’t see anyone beating Lesnar unless they get a “lucky” shot in.
Kinda like Buster Douglas on Tyson. Mind you Tyson was kind of strung out at the time of that fight and not necessarily at his best. I think we’re in for some great bouts though…looking forward to seeing them.
jake:
Wait. Are you saying that Greco-Roman is the same as WWE?
“if so thats not a big deal ya didnt know.”
