X-Files actor and Golden Globe winner David Duchovny has entered a rehab center for an addiction to sex. This has been confirmed by David’s attorney, Stanton ‘Larry’ Stein to People magazine.

Here is the only statement given by Duchovny thus far:

“I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

David, 48, is married to actress Tea Leoni, 42, and the couple have two children together, daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6. The couple met in 1997 and they had a nine week courtship before exchanging wedding vows. Tia has made two movie in 2008, Ghost Town and Manure.

In our search for recent photos of the actor, we gathered several pics from red carpet events and the star looks tired and unshaved. Tea and David have not been photographed together recently.
