MySpace Levi Johnston: “I Don’t Want Kids” (Photos)
Levi Johnston, 17 year old Alaskan teenager and father of Bristol Palin’s unborn child, has sparked more controversy with comments that he has posted on his MySpace page. Bristol is the 17 year old daughter of Governor Sarah Palin, who has been tapped by John McCain to run on the Republican ticket as his VP pick.
Levi and Bristol will be entering their senior year at Wasilla HS. He is a hot shot hockey player who scored 24 goals in his last 24 games.
On his MySpace page, Johnston boasts, “I’m a f….in’ redneck who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes. But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s… and just f…in’ chillin’, I guess. Ya f… with me I’ll kick ass.” He also claims to be “in a relationship” but states, “I don’t want kids.”
Not exactly the kind of publicity the McCain-Palin ticket is looking for during the Republican National Convention this week in St. Paul, Minnesota. Palin has not granted any interviews - likely because the topic is too hot. The announcement that she was joining the ticket hit on Friday and revelations about her daughter have taken center stage. McCain knew about the situation but likely had no idea that it would become THE story.

Oh man this is not going well for McCain. I hate that everyone is making this look like an after school special, but it looks like they should have done a little research on Palin.

So this is the fellow the Palins are going to force into a shotgun wedding with their daughter (who as far as I’m concerned is on baby #2).
Trapping a young man who is clearly enjoying his youth and freedom into marriage and shackles at this point and against what he wants, certainly at this time in his life, is a sure way to create a caged desperate animal who drowns his bitterness in alcohol, turns his anger on his wife in violent abuse, and possibly on the child/children? as well before he dumps her. It’s bad all around.
Sex education, access to condoms and other forms of birth control, practice of safe responsible sex and the option of safe abortion preserves the lives and futures of both young women and such young men.
It is all talk until after the election is over, they will announce their true intentions whether anyone like it or not.

This poor kid didn’t know what they were getting him into. That quote from myspace reminds me of a dozen other teenage boys who can live safely with the knowledge that the entire nation isn’t going to be googling them tomorrow.

Politically, I’m thrilled McCain has shot himself in the foot so seemingly effectively. But I feel terrible for these kids that they have to go through all this in a national spotlight.

On Levi, I really think he’s under pressure and I also feel palin’s daughter may also be under pressure to marry. I feel bad that these kids have to be under the microscope but I guess since they acted as adult and are about to be parents, they must be treated as such.
