Oprah Says No! To Sarah Palin
Despite thousands of requests by her fans, Oprah Winfrey, an avid Obama supporter is refusing to have Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show.
According to the Drudge Report, Oprah’s staff is “sharply divided” on having the Alaska governor on the show, with one executive close to Winfrey warning that a Sarah Palin ban could ignite a dramatic backlash.
Last year, she blocked Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from appearing as part of a promotional tour for a book he had just written.
I have always liked Oprah, yet it seems like her big talk of empowering women and minorities only extends to those with liberal views.
The Drudge Report says Oprah and executive producer Sheri Salata, who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama’s campaign, refused requests for comment.

Yes, you are very correct in that her “big talk of empowering women and minorities only extends to those with liberal views”…she is very hypocritical about many many things.
Women should be empowered…but only if they want to express views that Oprah thinks are correct.
Oprah thinks women should be respect themselves and the we need to present a more positive image for young women…but she supports women like Beyonce who promote an over-sexualized version of young women (just watch any one of her videos!)
Oprah beleives in God…unless you are talking about the scriptures when he dissaproves of homosexuality and spiritism.

Reason being, Sarah Palin herself does not seek to empower women. Having her as VP will do nothing to improve the status of women in the United States, none of her policies separate her from someone like Rick Santorum.
Feminism cannot be so shortsighted as to look solely at the gender of the person running, but needs to look more at what they’re running FOR. Hillary would have worked her ass off to make women’s lives better. Palin? Not so much.
Turns out only “liberals” fully support women.

That is because Oprah doesn’t like people that talk down to community organizers.
Sarah Palin has nothing to do with “empowering women” and everything to do with keeping the same corrupt neocons that have destroyed this country over the last 8 years in power. Her speech Wednesday night was written by a George W. Bush speechwriter. What else needs to be said? We cannot let these people have another 4 years to destroy our country.

I personally have seen Oprah go down deeper and deeper for a while now.
Oprah is the television equivalent of Howard Stern. Self-serving and in it for herself. And sadly, she doesn’t contribute any product, doesn’t add to the GDP, she just takes ad money, which all of us pay for. BOYCOTT her advertisers.
The scariest thing to me is that Barack Obama may get elected just because his skin color is dark, and his absent father was Kenyan. He was raised by a white hippee, he is not african american. There are way too many people that will vote for him just because of the color of his skin. Take away the skin color and the eloquence, and you have no substance, just higher taxes and more of the same democrat socialism.
I have heard way to many people talk about how they get all teary eyed, thinking of MLK, Racism. Please see past the color of his skin. What has he done in the Senate? What has he done anywhere?

The irony is that the left wing liberal democrats had a very presidential woman candidate and she was treated to the worst female stereotyping, as a battle axe, a shrill old witch, or alternately whiny and emotionally weak. She couldn’t win and they played hard ball to knock her out for this ‘community organizer’ with frightening ties and laughable experience compared with her. Where Obama was referred to by his last name, Hilary Clinton was always labeled by her first.
The dems robbed her of the party nomination when she had the popular vote. Then that snobby little narcissist did not have the good sense to welcome her as his running mate. The liberal democrats talk a good line but there was no respect for women shown.
I have been pulling my hair over this election, but it will come down to the fact that I do not trust Nobama and his shady affiliations and longtime alliances and mentors. I do not like his wife at all, and I do not think America wants to be taxed into the stone age when they are already dealing with high food and fuel costs, robbing them of any disposable income. He is essentially a communist.
Women in the majority will not allow Ms. Palin to overthrow their and their daughter’s reproductive rights. She has shown me though via her speech though that she is plenty tough enough to take a 3:00 call and go after like a grizzly bear. I was impressed how with one swipe of the paw she took down the myth of Obama.
That is what Oprah fears and hates and so does not want to give her a platform or any publicity. For a woman who has been benefited so much by white people in building her fortune and success, it is sad that she is so obviously racially polarized and biased in this election. Palin should graciously reject being on her show after they win the election. Then Oprah can eat her sour grapes without the ratings.
Considering Palin’s redneck ways and confusion about her and her daughters pregnancy, and the rumors of the affair with the buisness partner, Palin should go on Jerry Springer orv Maury Povich.
I love the ridiculous outrage on the slam against “community organizers”. She was slammed repeatedly for only having been mayor, the suggestion being that that’s not a real credible job and she was taking a return shot for those attacks…..so I guess the message is slamming mayors good, slamming community organizers bad? umm..ok….

Well, if Oprah doesn’t like Palin, then maybe Palin isn’t nearly as bad as I’ve been hearing. Taking one’s direction from Oprah is like getting advice from the Looney Tunes’ Pete Puma character.

Oprah, was at one time good. what happend……..she is anohter over hyped no talent celeb. on her soap box and always cranking about something….Maybe she should no the facts before she goes and rips somebody apart.
I lost all respect for Oprah after she started endorsing politicians (as I have for any other celebrity who has does the same). Why should I care about the opinion of a celebrity? Because she’s rich? Because she’s on TV?
Oprah should stick to what she does best: charity work in Africa and giving away cars. Entertainers exist for our entertainment, and I resent her attempt to “guide” us mere mortals.

Why do people insist on trying to demonize Oprah with untruths? Oprah has stated LIVE on her Friday’s Live Show, that she did NOT ban Sarah Palin. She said she would be happy to have her on the show, AFTER the election.

Actually if you read the whole thing, Oprah herself says that NONE of the candidates have been on her show, but Palin is welcome to come on afterwards. Oprah chooses to do the respectable thing and not have any particular candidate on! The problem with Palin and her supporters is that they DON’T READ.
Sarah Palin is a great lady,smart, witty,& has a great personality, if she is the vice president, I my self as an American would be proud. I have been watching her & she’s what this country needs, a real family woman, She believes in God & she has good morals, more than I could say about some I know! Her & her family are mainstream America. She has already accomplished so much. I’m praying that God will give her& John Mc Cain a chance to see what they can do for us & this great country we all live in.
