Washington Redskin tight end Chris Cooley apologized today for posting an explicit picture of himself on his website yesterday.    Cooley intended to post a page out of his team playbook but he inadvertently snapped a photo that revealed more than just the notebook pages that were positioned across his lap.

The site received 17,000 hits before and during the Washington Redskins v. New Orleans Saints.    The error was called to his attention when he returned home at which time he promptly took the photo down from his site.  He posted the following on his site today:

“All apologies from the website….We did not want to offend anyone.  The picture wouldn’t have been up for so long but we were in the middle of winning a big game.  Once again, this was a complete accident and we regret not reviewing the post more closely.”

Cooley married former Washington Redskin cheerleader Christy Oglevee in May, 2008.  She was fired when it was learned that the pair were dating, in violation of team policy.  Cooley has been dubbed Captain Chaos and is known for his ‘Animal House’ persona.
