Eva Longoria Parker was one of the many Hollywood celebrities to grace the red carpet last night at the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards show.  She gave an interesting sound bite regarding the recent worldwide interest in her midsection.

The actress has been rumored to be pregnant, with many very suggestive photos hitting the Internet.  Frankly, the pics seem to support the media claims.  To this, the actress offered, “I gained 5 pounds and it’s like a national scandal.”

Fellow Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman even got into the middle of it last week when she said, “she’s just fat”.  Last night at the Emmy’s, she told Billy Bush, “Oh my God, I got in such trouble for that line.”  Evidently not from Longoria.  Afraid to face her the next morning at a show reading, Huffman was relieved that Eva wasn’t mad.  She thought the comment was funny.

We’re not totally convinced that this is the end of the story.  The gown worn by Eva is certainly not the form fitting variety that she usually favors for a red carpet event.  With a little help from Spanx undergarments, she could easily have slimmed down the look of a baby belly for national television.   We’ll continue to watch and wait.

The actress is married to NBA player Tony Parker, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs.
