John Elway, retired Denver Broncos quarterback and Hall of Famer, is engaged to marry Oakland Raiders cheerleader Paige Green.  The couple were in Italy together last week when the football great proposed to the 41 year old.

Elway, 48, was married to Janet Elway for 18 years.  They have four children: Jessica, Jordan, Juliana (Juju) and Jack.  The couple divorced in 2003.

Paige Green met Elway at a golf tournament in Los Angeles that was hosted by former Raiders running back Marcus Allen.  Green hung up her pom poms and moved to Denver last year to be with Elway full time.

August 31, 2009 UPDATE:  Elway and Green reportedly got married over the weekend at his lakeside home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.   A group of friends flew to Idaho for the nuptials, including his pal Craig Andrisen, business partner Tim Schmidt, sportswriter Rick Reilly and their wives.    The guest list was reported to include 50-60 family members and close friends of the couple.
