Former American Idol contestant Paris Bennett gave birth to a 5 lb 15 oz baby girl on Monday.

Egypt Bennett was born at 3:36pm Monday afternoon.

“I’m so excited to finally see my little angel – and man, does she have lungs on her,” the first-time mom said. “I guess she’s gearing up to be the next American Idol.”

According to Paris’s mother, Jamecia Bennett, the baby’s father “chooses not to be in the public eye.”

Paris, 20, finished fifth on American Idol season 5. Her new album, “A Royal Christmas” is scheduled for release on October 14.
