Palin Newsweek Cover Photo – No Photoshop Here.
Sarah Palin’s face is on the cover of Newsweek…..well, actually it is part of the Alaska Governor’s facial profile. The issue is dated October 13, 2008 and hit newsstands on Monday.
The story, written by Jon Meacham, is entitled She’s One of The Folks (And that’s the problem). A fair amount of criticism has been leveled against Newsweek for putting Palin on the cover in a photo that shows all of her pores, wrinkles, age lines and blemishes. Most covers are a product of Photoshop magic to the nth degree.
We actually think that Palin is not hampered by Newsweek’s alleged slight. She’s an extremely attractive woman who shines in any light. Most would give her that – even if they strongly disagree with her politics.
Check out Palin’s family photo gallery here. She sat for an Oprah Interview on Nov. 16, 2009 to launch her new book Going Rogue.
Palin is on the November 2009 cover of Newsweek as well – click to fully expand photos.

I agree. She’s a pretty lady, and I don’t see the point of photoshopping politcians. If she’s got signs of age, it’s only going to make her look more credible. (and that’s the problem, haha)
Look at the July 21st cover of Obama. Does it look like they did an over-abundance of airbrushing on that close-up??? This “controversy” is ridiculous.
i wonder how much those eyeglasses cost. and which taxpayer funded resource they were paid with.
I’m not concerned about Sarah Palin’s age lines or her pores I’m concerned about her lack of intelligence, knowledge, & class.

I was in a client’s house today, and could hear a television on in an adjacent room. I wasn’t really paying attention, until I heard the female commentator sounding rather agitated. ” … pores …”, “… lines …”, ” … wrinkles … “, and “… they should be ashamed …”. Huh? I went in to witness the horror of which she spoke, and was amazed to realize it was a Newsweek cover photo of Sarah Palin!
A PHOTOGRAPH. The woman was ranting and raving about how beautiful Palin is, and what a terrible injustice Newsweek had committed by not retouching the photo. She commanded her viewers to cancel their Newsweek subscriptions over the slight!
Yowie. The woman is running for vice-president to a decrepit old man, and these bimbos are nearly apoplectic over her accurate depiction on a magazine cover.
The Republicans are evidently not content with only the sequestration of Palin’s mind; now they want to control her photographs.
From the same bunch that condemned Obama’s “star” quality. Scary.
I believe Sarah Palin is being used. I have daughters who struggle with pressure from men and yes, the critique of other women daily about their level of beauty and as parents we tell them to focus on your substance and to accept who you are! On the national political scene we have the obscene disrespectful “misuse” of Sarah Palin as a “trophy” running mate simply because McCain is not palatable to watch, hear or lead. She obviously is not the most qualified woman in the nation to back up McCain. Using her image, over managing her speeches, making her the attack dog on the campaign is a sad reality of both their political position and their lack of a viable choice for V.P.
I would not want this “use and embarrassment” for my daughter and I feel pity for Sarah Palin.
If she’s playing the whole folksy, jus’ another gal persona here, then wouldn’t Photoshopping be the equivalent of having plastic surgery?
Jeez. The horror. Newsweak made a 40-something woman look like…a 40-something woman.
And yeah, I suppose she’s attractive. But what I know is behind that face is a deep, deep turnoff. If only you could put a bag over her mind. (kidding, jeez)
She’s beautiful… even up close. I don’t see the controversy with the picture.
To “old folks”… what’s the deal with how much her glasses cost? You need to find something else to get angry about… you’re trying too hard! lol
WTF?? You’re complaining because they published a photo that didn’t make her PRETTY enough? It’s NEWSWEEK not Seventeen. If this is something you spend time thinking about then your right to vote should be revoked. Immediately.
I looked at this cover, and it seems that newsweek photoshopped the picture AGAINST palin. people naturally have some hair underneath their lips but above their chin, but newsweek puts some hair on palin’s bottom lip.
Peter, it would seem she just applied lipstick over some of the skin under her lips. It’s pretty common to apply lipstick either to less than entire lip or slightly more. Does not seem like a conspiracy, occams razor and all that.
The Newsweek cover picture of sarah Palin is captioned: She is one of us – that is the problem. Amazing stumbling on the truth. It is a problem for the MSM.
