The Newsweek cover picture of sarah Palin is captioned: She is one of us - that is the problem. Amazing stumbling on the truth. It is a problem for the MSM.

Peter, it would seem she just applied lipstick over some of the skin under her lips. It's pretty common to apply lipstick either to less than entire lip or slightly more. Does not seem like a conspiracy, occams razor and all that.

I looked at this cover, and it seems that newsweek photoshopped the picture AGAINST palin. people naturally have some hair underneath their lips but above their chin, but newsweek puts some hair on palin's bottom lip.

WTF?? You're complaining because they published a photo that didn't make her PRETTY enough? It's NEWSWEEK not Seventeen. If this is something you spend time thinking about then your right to vote should be revoked. Immediately.

She's beautiful... even up close. I don't see the controversy with the picture.

To "old folks"... what's the deal with how much her glasses cost? You need to find something else to get angry about... you're trying too hard! lol

If she's playing the whole folksy, jus' another gal persona here, then wouldn't Photoshopping be the equivalent of having plastic surgery?

Jeez. The horror. Newsweak made a 40-something woman look like...a 40-something woman.

And yeah, I suppose she's attractive. But what I know is behind that face is a deep, deep turnoff. If only you could put a bag over her mind. (kidding, jeez)

I believe Sarah Palin is being used. I have daughters who struggle with pressure from men and yes, the critique of other women daily about their level of beauty and as parents we tell them to focus on your substance and to accept who you are! On the national political scene we have the obscene disrespectful "misuse" of Sarah Palin as a "trophy" running mate simply because McCain is not palatable to watch, hear or lead. She obviously is not the most qualified woman in the nation to back up McCain. Using her image, over managing her speeches, making her the attack dog on the campaign is a sad reality of both their political position and their lack of a viable choice for V.P.
I would not want this "use and embarrassment" for my daughter and I feel pity for Sarah Palin.

I was in a client's house today, and could hear a television on in an adjacent room. I wasn't really paying attention, until I heard the female commentator sounding rather agitated. " ... pores ...", "... lines ...", " ... wrinkles ... ", and "... they should be ashamed ...". Huh? I went in to witness the horror of which she spoke, and was amazed to realize it was a Newsweek cover photo of Sarah Palin!

A PHOTOGRAPH. The woman was ranting and raving about how beautiful Palin is, and what a terrible injustice Newsweek had committed by not retouching the photo. She commanded her viewers to cancel their Newsweek subscriptions over the slight!

Yowie. The woman is running for vice-president to a decrepit old man, and these bimbos are nearly apoplectic over her accurate depiction on a magazine cover.

The Republicans are evidently not content with only the sequestration of Palin's mind; now they want to control her photographs.

From the same bunch that condemned Obama's "star" quality. Scary.
