If you’re running vice-president, aren’t you supposed to answer questions like that?” Now if a 14 year old boy is seeing this, then I’m sure a lot of other people can see through this rhetoric also. More stations and newspapers need to ask these questions. I’m sure even some Democrats would like to know the answers to the same questions tht Ms. West posed. If this is a true democratic society, more people would demand answers on these very quetsions.

Watch Hannity’s special on Foxnews about all of Obamas friends, and a new discovery, Obama’s mentor, “Frank”, who is spoke of with high regard in Obama’s book.    I was sorry WFTV pulled the interview off their web site. Ms. West was very respectful. Why is it that Democrats have a problem answering the tough questions? They say plenty but it amounts to nothing and is anything but truthful. I can’t figure out how Obama did so much to help the people when he only served one year in the Senate before spending the next two years trying to be our president. As for Mr. Biden, he likes to say how McCain voted with Bush on all these things including the Irag war. I seem to recall it was a unanimous vote, so Biden is no better than McCain. In fact he is worse. At least John McCain had the guts to defend our freedoms just as I did in the US Marine Corps. If you have never served your country, you have no idea how precious and fragile our freedom really is. It’s the Bidens, Kennedys, Kerrys, etc. who put us in this economic situation, not Bush. The President is one person and does not have the power to do anything on his own without the Congress’s support.I wish WFTV would put the interview back on thier site. God help freedom of speech and the press if Obama and Biden get elected. Their reaction to this interview is a prelude to censorship if they get elected.

   This is the kind of questions a lot of people are interested in , but never hear because the Obama campaign says this is not what people want to hear. They do this to keep focuse on the economy & not what is really going on. And to think they would do the shut out of anyone who will ask tough questions. It has been my understanding that all inteveiws with any of Obama’s side have preconditons. This is not right & I hope the country will wake up before it is too late.
   It feels like we are being told , ONLY what they want us to know & nothing real. This is very scary to me.

    I don’t understand how people are defining “tough”. The only “tough” thing about these questions is trying to understand why they are being asked. I am all for asking politicians tough questions, but the Marxist thing was waaaaay too far. There was absolutely nothing professional about this interview. This woman is by far one of the worst journalists I have ever seen.

    It makes me sad that people are supporting her simply because they feel it’s “about time” that the Obama camp had difficult questions. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t want that– in fact, I’m all for it– but I wouldn’t want this for either campaign. If you want to complain about bias in the media, you really shouldn’t support it when it happens in your favour.

    I’m glad this interview happened because these are the talking points i see on all the extreme right wing political sites.

    It shows the crazy partisanship we’ve reached in this country when these obviously loaded questions (Marxism?) delivered by a terrible reporter (no follow up questions? It’s like she’s not even listening to him) are responded to fairly politely in my opinion is being lauded by people.

    It is not black and white (and I’m not talking race). All the candidates have some good aspects and bad aspects to them. If they didn’t they would never have reached such a position.

    This was a terrible interview, but I’m glad it happened. Hopefully one of those loons who has harped on these questions will listen to it and realize that.

    I just learned about this interview and one done of McCain on the Today Show. Both interviewers seemed to have tough questions. What caught my attention was the fact that Meredith Vieira consistently interrupted her guest–seemingly in an effort to distort his responses or at least change their direction. Barabara West, on the other hand, seemed to give Joe Biden all the time he might want for a response. Perhaps I don’t fully understand the “professional” role of a news commentator or interviewer (I don’t watch a lot of TV), but I did appreciate the common courtesy that was more evident in the West interview than in Vieira’s.
