LA Times Obama Video: Obama Praises Rashid Khalidi
Rashid Khalidi
In a video obtained by the Los Angeles Times, Barack Obama is seen praising radical Palestinian activist Rashid Khalidi.
The video was taken at at a farewell dinner for Khalidi, Obama’s colleague at the University of Chicago, before his departure for Columbia University in New York in 2003.
The LA Times, which endorsed Barack Obama for president on October 19, published their own account of the events that occurred on the videotape in a story written by Peter Wallsten in April.
The Times refuses to release the videotape, leading many to speculate that the paper is purposely suppressing the tape of the event, which was reportedly attended by former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.
The McCain campaign is now demanding that the Times release the video, saying it could, among other things, show how Obama responded to a poem recited at the party accusing Israel of “terrorism” and warning of consequences for U.S. support for Israel, which McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb described as “hate speech.”
“A major news organization is intentionally suppressing information that could provide a clearer link between Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi,” said Goldfarb.
“The election is one week away, and it’s unfortunate that the press so obviously favors Barack Obama that this campaign must publicly request that the Los Angeles Times do its job — make information public,” he said.
Obama has distanced himself from Khalidi in recent months, saying, “He is not one of my advisers. He’s not one of my foreign policy people,” adding, “He is a respected scholar, although he vehemently disagrees with a lot of Israel’s policy.”
But according to the Times, Obama said in his toast that he hoped his relationship with Khalidi would continue even after the professor left Chicago. “It’s for that reason that I’m hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation — a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid’s dinner table … [but around] this entire world.”
Nancy Sullivan, spokeswoman for the Times, said the paper is not interested in revisiting the story. “As far as we’re concerned, the story speaks for itself,” she said.
Sullivan said she would not give details of what else may be on the tape, adding that anyone interested in the video should read the newspaper’s report, which was its final account.

Tell the whole TRUTH. This is the same man that John McCain gave nearly a half of million dollars to when he was part of the IRI. Can you really be THAT scared that a black man may be your next President. You need to pray.
I think you should stick to writing about celebrities, and leave this kind of stuff to CNN or sites like that. This is a HOLLYWOOD gossip website, so stick to what you’re good at.
By suppressing the video, The L.A. Times (a huge Liberal publication) acknowledges its content is damaging to Sen. Obama. This is another piece of the puzzle, along with sitting 20 years and never hearing the anti-American rhetoric of Rev. Wright, never mentioning the ant-American views of Bill Ayers and his wife throughout their 15 year friendship, never questioning Khalidi’s anti-American and anti-Semetic views in their 15 year friendship, never hearing the Communist anti_american views of his Hawaiian Uncle of 20 years and on and on and on. GIVE ME A BREAK, the MEDIA IS GIVING THIS GUY A FREE PASS ON ANY QUESTIONING THAT THEIR CAMPAIGN DOESN’T WANT REVEALED! BUY YOUR WEAPONS NOW! CHANGE IS COMING AMERICA, AND IT IS SCAREY!
it’s not being scared that a “black man” is president. I’m just more curious about what’s on the tapes.
[...] SOURCE Bitten and Bound [...]
It has nothing to do with the color of his skin. It has to do with the lies he tells and the company he keeps. He is a racist. He keeps company with people who want to exterminate the Jews. Why not let us see the tape if there is nothing on it that will hurt him? It seems like he has too much to hide.
When Obama is president where will you pray? You might be careful about talking about /telling people to pray. He wants to take about freedom of speech (Real act) and the 2nd ammendment. I don’t want a President who doesn’t believe in the Constitution. No matter what color his skin is.
Whay does every criticism of Obama have to be labeled as racism? We are not scared of a black man. If the democrats had thought white America was too afraid of a black man to elect one, he would not be the candidate. If Obama gets elected, I hope there is no more whining regarding white people being prejudiced against blacks. Maybe then, we can begin to challenge the reverse descrimintaion we all deal with everyday!
If the source of the tape requested it to not be viewed then why did they give it to he LA times then?
I say LA Times is lying
I, for one would LOVE to elect an African American as president of the United States! I am an independent-Jewish voter who has a hard time voting for a pro-lifer, like McCain. BUT, I would not be totally honest if I didn’t say that I have some concerns about his leanings. I have problems with his relationships and how he explains them. Everyone has one friend who may have extremely different beliefs than they do, but…he just has so many of these friends in his circle and he claims not to follow the beliefs of them…I just don’t know what to think about this. I want him to be honest and truthful, and I want to believe he is, but I would not be honest myself if I didn’t mention that I have some doubts and worries. I would love to see this video and make up my own mind. But I will most likely not be given the privilege. I would have to say at this point I would vote McCain because I just can’t get enough honest and upfront information about Obama. It kills me because I want to vote Democrat…but I just can’t get enough information without the filters…
This tape needs to be made shown to the people of the U.S. so we can make the right choice for the biggest job in the country. If the tape is not shown we must believe that it shows Obama doing something wrong and we should vote for McCain. With all the other ties to bad people that Obama has as friends shows his judgement isn’t what it should be. Obama is a racist and if becomes president we will be in a world of hurt. We will see wars in our back yards because he is weak. I Hope everyone will vote for Sen. John McCain.
Email the Times. Pressure them to release the tape.

And here’s a sample letter to use
“To the Editor:
I’m writing to request you release the tape of Senator Obama speaking with (or about) Professor Rashid Khalidi.
While partisans will no doubt bicker over the significance of the tape’s meaning, the tape itself holds material of direct importance to the public.
It is in the public’s interest to have all available materials on a given candidate. Indeed, the well-being of civil society depends on the free exchange of information.
Please release this tape so we may have direct access to its contents and may evaluate it solely on its own merits.
Thank you for your kind attention to these vital matters.
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME HERE”

Hit them in the wallet where it HURTS!
Look out Israel.
I wish we could see the video and put an end to some of the rumors. I read that Mr Obama is quoted as saying that “Jews have no God given right to Israel” and Jews have committed genocide against the Palestinians”.
All friends of Israel should NOT vote for Mr Obama. I find it sad that most Jewish Americans support Mr Obama.
What do you expect from the media in California? Obama can’t afford to be up front with the American people, because it would cost him the election.
Obama is the by-product of the 60’s radical utopian vision of the world. It’s the same reason nut jobs like Bill Ayers are professors. They have infiltrated the media, our schools and will do anything to protect their self-serving interests. Ironically, these all-about-me, Marxist hippies have become part of a system more despicable than the one they hated 40 years ago. It’s just a horse of another color, but this one is lame.
I am only voting Republican across the board to keep these far left lunatics from destroying our sacred Bill of Rights. Otherwise, I would be voting 3rd party. I would take 8 more years of Bush’s BS, than anyone, black or white, with the liberal Democrats agenda!
Who needs a video tape from the LA Times to assimilate the waist high pile of cr@p already surrounding Obama? His plan is so far left, it will force nearly half of Americans to shift farther right, effectively dividing our country. You have to consider they are essentially plotting to rob millions of their hard earned wealth during a financial crisis. Obama’s utopian dream is going to be a nightmare for enough people to create a serious national security issue and probably assasination attempts. It’s going to get ugly!
