Andy Kennedy, head-coach of the Ole Miss Rebels basketball team, was arrested at 1:00 a.m. this morning in downtown Cincinnati for assaulting a cab driver. According to a police report, Kennedy repeatedly punched 25 year old Jiddou Mohammed Ould in the face with a closed fist while shouting racial slurs.
A complaint filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court charged Kennedy with misdemeanor assault. The report goes on to say that there is an unrelated witness who saw the incident. Kennedy is scheduled to make his first court appearance at 12:30 p.m. today.
Andy Kennedy, a standout player in high school, was named a 1986 Parade All-American. His coaching career started at the University of South Alabama and UAB from 1994-2001. He went on to become an assistant coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team from 2001-2005, serving as interim head-coach in 2005-2006 after Bob Huggins resigned. He lead the team to a 21-13 record that season.
The Rebels play Louisville in the SEC Big East Invitational doubleheader at U.S. Bank Arena tonight in Cincinnati.

If this proves to be true, and he is found guilty in court; let’s hope that he serves some real time for this action. My good friend, a Muslim American, had the hell beat out of him three weeks ago by a drunk guy who grabbed him as he walked past a bar at 3 in the afternoon.
His attacker called him a “no-good Haji terrorist” and proceeded to fracture my friend, Muhammad’s, jaw…sadly, the attacker escaped and there will be no penalty. So, when I read something like this…it really hits close to home, and I pray justice is served on Mr. Kennedy.
What a hard ass. If I played basketball I would definitly want to play for that guy.
