‘Marley & Me’ Beats ‘Benjamin Button’ at Christmas Box Office (Trailers)

Jennifer Aniston wins Christmas Day box officeBrad Pitt takes second place

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt went head to head on Christmas Day in movie theaters across the country.  Her Marley & Me dog flick with co-star Owen Wilson took top honors at $14.8 million, the highest Christmas Day movie opening ever.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button came in second with $11.8, which now has the distinction of being the second highest Christmas Day movie opening ever.

Both movies exceeded the one day box office expectation by 40-50% according to Variety.  Their website declares: “Marley & Me Fetches Christmas Prize”.

  2. I like Brad Pitt as an actor and Angelina Jolie, as well as Jennifer Anniston. However, Pitt disappointed with his treatment of Anniston, so I made sure I made it to see Marley and Me and refuse to watch Pitt’s movie at the box office. Congratulations, Jennifer.
