Sam Shepard Arrested For DUI (Mugshot)
Sam Shepard, playwright, actor and director of both stage and screen, was pulled over by police in Normal, Illinois at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and was charged with speeding and DUI.
Police Lt. Mark Kotte confirmed that police stopped Shepard for driving 46 mph in a residential zone with a posted speed limit of 30 mph. The actor pulled his Tahoe onto the curb, where the officer on the scene administered a roadside Breathalyzer test. Shepard reportedly registered a reading of .175, double the legal limit in Illinois.
Shepard, 65, told the police officer that he had been traveling from Minnesota to his home in Kentucky and had stopped at a tavern. He was on his way to a hotel when police made the traffic stop. Shepard was booked into the McLean County Jail in Bloomington, Illinois.
Shepard and his partner of 26 years, actress Jessica Lange, lived in the historic rivertown of Stillwater, Minnesota while their two children Hannah Jane, 23, and Walker Samuel, 21, were in high school. They moved out of the area after the children were grown. Lange also has a daughter Aleksandra 27, with famed ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.

I QUESS OLD BOY SHEPARD DID NOT GET THE NEWS THAT AS OF JANUARY FIRST IT IS ZERO TOLERANCE IN THE GREAT STATE OF ILLINOIS. I AM VERY PLEASED THAT CELEBRITIES ARE GETTING CHARGED WITH DUI SAME AS REGULAR FOLKS. THE NORMAL POLICE OFFICERS PROBABLY SAVED THIS MAN’S LIFE, OR, SAVED THE LIFE OF SOMEONE ELSE. GOOD WORK OFFICERS!
