Mariska Hargitay: Law & Order SVU Star Sidelined With Collapsed Lung
One of our favorite television actresses, Mariska Hargitay has suffered a partially collapsed lung and was a no show at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards. The Law & Order: SVU star was nominated for Best Actress in the television drama category.
Hargitay, 44, apparently discovered that she had suffered a collapsed lung while she and her family were on vacation. Her rep. confirmed that “Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with a pneumothorax. She will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of Law & Order: SVU.”
Mariska plays Detective Olivia Benson of the Special Victims Unit. She has won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her portrayal. She is the daughter of 50’s blonde bombshell actress Jayne Mansfield and Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay. Mansfield died at age 34 as a result of a 1967 car crash.

I was astonished when I heard this….Mariska hargitay at N.Y.U hospital because of a skiing accident??? at first I was like no way!!! But then again it does sound like mariska. I really hope she gets better and hope she is not in much Pain. I want her to know I love her and everyone of your fans sheaded a tear when the heard the news, I of course cried my own river. I hope Peter is alright and is not freaking out right about now. I hope August Knows his mamma will be alright and I hope Mariska knows she’s loved….

Hargitay’s Mother BomShell Jayne Mansfield died when mariska was just three years old in the back seat of the tragic accident that took her mothers life. “I think mariska has a first hand clue on the terible tramitic things that happen to todays youth.
