Marcus Schrenker, the Indiana businessman who had been on the run since attempting to fake his own death on Sunday, has been apprehended in a KOA campground near Quincy, Florida.

U.S. Marshals Service task force personnel indicate they found the financial planner at a campsite. He had deep cuts on his wrists and was bleeding profusely when he was taken into custody. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare with what police are calling self inflicted injuries.

Schrenker has been charged with unlawful acts and unlawful transactions by a financial adviser. Hamilton County Superior Court has set bail at $4 million.

The businessman’s license to operate as a compensated financial adviser were revoked on 12/31/08 and he apparently was still making transactions on January 5, 2009.

His wife, Michelle Schrenker, filed for divorce on December 30. His father recently died and Schrenker was under investigation after investors accused him of stealing potentially millions that had been entrusted to him. He was ordered to pay a $533,564 judgment in federal court last Friday.

The accomplished pilot submitted a video to YouTube in December showing a stunt over the Bahamas.
