M.I.A. Announces Arrival of Baby On MySpace (Photos)

M.I.A., the British songwriter and vocalist, has posted a message to fans on MySpace indicating that her baby son was born on Wednesday, February 11.

The 31 year old, of Sri Lanken Tamil descent, gave birth just three days after performing at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards show in Los Angeles. Benjamin Bronfman is M.I.A.’s fiance and the father of her baby.

The singer was up for Record of the Year for Paper Planes, which was featured in the hit movie Slumdog Millionaire.

On Saturday she wrote on her MySpace page: “My baby is here. Happy Valentine’s Day! He is healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet.”

The singers publicist confirmed the news and said that the entry on MySpace was indeed written by the star herself.
