		<description>Comical...It would appear to me that assuring every individuals chance to succeed is protected is the greatest way to promote &#039;general welfare&#039;.  Seeing as how the the colonies were sick of tyrannical attempts at rule of the 13 colonies by George III, they, our founders, wanted less control.  The government needs less control now.  We, the people, need our government to have less control.

&#039;General welfare&#039; does not mean the use of individuals well earned money being used in a government bailout for people who take on mortgages they cannot pay, or for their birth control, or for anything else the average American pays for.  If consumers let a company fail, then don&#039;t vest interest in them, or use consumer money to keep them afloat.  Get a grip.
Socializing this nation will do nothing but push the innovators to other areas and thus remove a huge chunk of our ever so expansion-happy governments source of revenue, doubling the government debt.  I wish socialists would look at things through the eyes of workers, not the opposite.

College means nothing, I&#039;ve learned less throughout my college career (graduation in May, woopy doo) than I&#039;ve learned through investing, experiencing, and reading.  If a mans college degree made him smart, then degree holders from &#039;prestigious&#039; schools would&#039;ve known better than to have 90% of their holdings in the volatile US stock market.  

To whoever said something about the American image, let&#039;s analyze that for a second.  The US has a democrat congress leading up to Obamas election.  The democrats in congress COULD HAVE stopped the recession in its tracks 2 years prior to the time if they listened to the warnings...but the US goes ahead and elects a member of the same party as congress to head the country...Who wants to spend $2-3 trillion dollars when unemployment only rises an additional 6% amidst this recession.  With a GDP of $14.5 trillion, we know that those numbers do not, in any form, add up. 
So did Obama help our image?  Hell no, kiddo.

Rush speaks much truth.  I laugh now at each of my friends, who now feel like idiots, for voting for this Obama idiot.</description>

There is nothing in the constitution about pursuit of individual wealth, however Ownership of real estate was a requirement to vote in the original constitution. 		<description>I am not a fan of Rush.  I have always thought he was a very pompus.  

That being said, I admire most of the points he came up with in this speech!  As a social worker, I DO agree that most of the time, the government does more hurt than help.  There are a few occasions when I love my job because I feel like elderly people are being taken care of when there is no one else to help them.  However, it breaks my heart, nine times out of ten to see people depending on the government when they are very capable of helping themselves.  I see women lying about being married, or intentionally NOT getting married to recieve government assistance.  There are people who purposely don&#039;t get jobs because they believe they can make more money (which is not very much) on government assistance and unemployment.  It hurts to watch smart men not better themselves and go to school or get a job because they think they don&#039;t have to.  

I disagree with Rush in that I believe there is a compromise between the liberals and the conservatives.  (It&#039;s just, no one has come up with a good one yet.)  But, I believe there is one out there that can help people who are truely down, yet at the same time, not push them down more.  I will keep thinking of one every day at work and let him know when I come up with a great compromise!  :-)

I enjoyed most of your speech, Rush.  Thanks for challenging us to think more!</description>
