Jason Mesnick Rejects Melissa Rycroft, Picks Molly Malaney (VIDEO)
Last night on the ABC reality show The Bachelor, viewers were treated to the Season Finale followed by a one hour special, The Bachelor: After The Final Rose Part 1, taped six weeks after the finale. If you caught the evening of highs and lows, you realize that the situation changed dramatically.
Jason Mesnick rejected his fiancee, former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Melissa Rycroft. He told her that they just don’t have the chemistry that it takes to continue their relationship. He said he discovered this during the holiday season. This came as a shock to Rycroft. Mesnick signed a contract that kept him from telling her what he planned to do and he reportedly regrets that he couldn’t have broken it to her privately before sharing it with the world.
To say that Rycroft was irritated is an understatement. Over the course of the past six week, he came to the conclusion that his engagement to Rycroft was a mistake and he decided that it was really 24 year old Molly Malaney, a department store buyer from Grand Rapids, Michigan who he wanted to marry. Things should be interesting on The Bachelor: After The Final Rose Part 2, which airs tonight.
Later in the evening, Mesnick appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. We’ve got the very funny exchange below.

I hope jason and molly is not working out either. One day player jason will be lose everything he have now. He
I have been following Jason and the Bachelor .(as well as all the other shows since its beginning) How many of us have such lavish dates when courting or being courted. It is fantasy!! Contestants know what they are getting into and have to sign a huge contract with ABC and they know that their lives will be on a TV program that millions of people watch.” They only have a few weeks to “fall in love”. Sometimes that works, but it is not normal.
Jason is not an actor, nor is Molly. Jason followed his heart after all the whistle, bells and fantasy dates are over and they have to go back to working for a living!
Hearts do change. REMEMBER ONLY ONE COUPLE HAS EVER GOTTEN MARRIED ON THIS SHOW. I don’t see people making BIG issues with these couples. The proper act, if your heart is confused, is to do something about it and Jason did!! Did ABC insist that it be done the way it was, WE WILL NEVER KNOW. But that is just a chance you take when you are on National TV.
So my comment is to LEAVE JASON AND MOLLY ALONE and let THEM decide if they are meant for each other. They are in real life now!!
