Coolio, aka Artis Leon Ivey Jr., 45, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport while trying to get through security to board a Southwest Airlines flight on Friday.    He was charged with possession of crack cocaine and released on $10,000 bail.   The rapper’s rep, Susan Haber, has not yet released a statement on the matter.

The Grammy award winning rapper had a 1995 hit Gangsta’s Paradise.  He has appeared on Celebrity Fear Factor, has hosted an online cooking show Cookin With Coolio and most recently took third place on the UK reality show Celebrity Big Brothers 2009.  He has a few movie credits, including a bit part in Daredevil.

On February 24, Coolio made headlines after he appeared on a UK network channel and stated he would “take a bullet for Barack Obama”.  While performing the next day, he did a stage dive into a crowd and was mugged.  Fans took his bandana and shoes before he was rescued by venue security.
