Female Force Series Comic Books: Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama will gain superhero status on April 25, 2009 when her Female Force Series comic book hits newsstands. For $3.99, readers will be able to purchase a 22 page biography detailing the story of the First Lady growing up in middle class Chicago.
Michelle is number three in the series of prominent political women. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin graced the covers of their own comic books last week. Both editions sold out immediately and are in their second printing. Caroline Kennedy’s comic book will debut in June 2009.
Bluewater Productions president and co-creator Darren G. Davis said the idea sprung out of frustration with the way powerful women are portrayed in the media. He said, “I feel like the guy who invented the Furby. The reaction has been insane.”
